How we list firms

Where the data comes from

The directory is built from the Solicitors Regulation Authority's Data Sharing service, which publishes details of every organisation the SRA regulates. We include every firm that is currently authorised and has an office with an LE postcode. That gives 187 firms at the last refresh on 2026-09-26. Firms that have closed, or whose authorisation has been revoked, are not listed.

The areas of law shown on a basic listing are those the firm has told the SRA it practises. They are a starting point, not a guarantee that a firm will take on your matter.

Consultant solicitors are the exception. The SRA lists them under the firm they practise through, not where they work, so they are added on request once we have checked them on the register. The site's founder, Steven Mather, is a consultant solicitor and has a free listing on the same terms as everyone else.

Who pays for what

Basic listings are free and are not affected by whether a firm pays us anything. Member firms pay a flat monthly fee for a fuller profile and for enquiries we pass on. Firms marked Featured pay for a higher position in that practice area, and are always labelled as such. Nobody pays per enquiry.

How enquiries are allocated

If you contact a firm through its own profile, your enquiry goes only to that firm. If you send a general enquiry, we work out which area of law it falls under and pass it to one member firm in that area, in rotation, under our allocation policy. Personal injury and criminal enquiries are not allocated; we list firms so you can contact them directly.

Reviews

Where a profile shows reviews, they are pulled from Google or ReviewSolicitors and shown as published there, with a link to the source. We do not edit, select or host reviews ourselves.

Logos

Where we show a firm's logo, it is taken from the firm's own website so you can recognise it. Showing a logo does not mean the firm is a member or has endorsed this site. A firm can ask us to replace or remove its logo at any time.

Corrections

If something on a listing is wrong, the quickest fix is for the firm to claim its listing. Anyone can also tell us and we will check it against the SRA register.
